LHS Building Project Chatbot

Project Mission

The LHS Chatbot is specially built to answer questions about the new Lexington High School Project. It saves residents' time by summarizing thousands of pages of official project documents, offering quick, clear answers with links to sources for user verification. While the chatbot is neutral in position, it can answer questions about costs, timelines, tax impact, and more. With this project, we hope to help residents better understand this important and widely discussed topic, enabling them to make well-informed decisions ahead of the LHS Project Special Debt Exclusion Vote on December 8th.

Community Impact + Feedback

On December 8, 2025, Lexington voters approved the debt exclusion to fund the new Lexington High School, with about 62% voting “Yes,” a pivotal step that followed months of public discussion about project costs, tax impacts, and design. The LHS Building Project Chatbot supported the civic process by providing residents with an accessible tool to explore official documents, understand financial details, and clarify key questions before voting.

Resident Feedback:

  • “This is pretty good. Congrats to the developers.”
  • “Thank you, clearly summarizes the costs.”
  • “This was really helpful, thank you!”
  • “Whoa! This is such a useful tool! It worked well for the three questions I submitted. Great job!”
  • “The chatbot response is factually correct. The potential positives were weighed.”
