On May 30, students from the Youth STEAM Initiative will present “Illuminate Heritage: Lightscapes of Lexington,” an immersive projection mapping experience that transforms local architecture into a living story of community at the Lexington Depot from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Guided by a Lexington-based university professor, students use light, animation, and real community imagery to explore a simple idea: what does it mean to step forward? Through a series of visual scenes, from quiet moments of need to acts of service, creativity, and leadership, the program highlights “citizen heroes”: individuals and groups whose everyday actions shape Lexington. Rather than spotlighting a few, the experience reveals the collective impact of many.
