Project Description
Why buy an expensive costume when you can make something yourself? This Halloween, we're challenging you to turn cardboard boxes, plastic bags, old clothes, bedsheets, or face painting into a unique costume. It's a way to make Halloween more creative, more fun, and a lot greener!
The contest is held online. Take a photo of your costume and submit it through our form. Winners will be chosen by community voting.
All ages are welcome. No expensive materials or skills needed, just creativity!
Deadline
Submissions are open until November 7, 2026
Materials
Cardboard, plastic bags, old clothes, bedsheets, face paint, anything you'd otherwise throw away
Who Can Join
Everyone! Kids, teens, adults, and families are all welcome
Awards
- First Place $50 - 1 winner
- Second Place $40 - 2 winners
- Third Place $30 - 3 winners
Winners are selected by community voting and will receive an Amazon gift card along with a Sustainability Achievement Award Letter from YSI.
How to Enter
- Gather recyclable or reusable materials from around your home.
- Need ideas? Check out online tutorials, YouTube videos, or AI tools for step-by-step instructions.
- Build your costume and take a photo of it.
- Submit your photo through the online submission form by November 7.
